Hydrology Summary Bulletin – November 2022
This Hydrology Summary Bulletin outlines the flows in rivers, rainfall, lake and turlough levels, groundwater levels and spring outflows of over 300 stations across Ireland for the month of November.
Overview
Rainfall was above the long-term average especially wet in the southwest.
The average river flows for November were above the long-term average at over four-fifths (82%) of river monitoring stations across the country.
Average lake levels also rose with over three-quarters (78%) of lakes higher than normal for this time of year.
Average monthly groundwater levels increased at almost all monitoring stations since October, with 69% of monitoring wells particularly high for November. Similarly, most monitored spring outflows were above the normal range for this time of year.
